The Artic Tern Challenge
This Seabird Challenge will run from 1 November to 30 April and the aim is to complete a number of cold water swims in varying attire over varying distances in the sea over the winter months.
It is a bit of fun to encourage swimmers to swim year round and raise money for a worthy cause. You can choose your level of donation to join in. When you complete the challenge you will receive a Seabirds woven badge (this year we will post them all) and certificate.
Seabirds exists to champion sea swimming as a way to greater health and happiness. Show the world you are a Salty Seabird and wear your badge with pride to show off your coldwater salty super-powers!
Money raised will go into Seabirds Community Swim Fund - this funds swim kit and lessons for non-swimmers with a focus on fulfilling Seabirds' commitment to the Black Swimming Association's DIPER charter - where Seabirds "stand with the BSA to create a swim buddy system in which we partner non-swimmers and swimmers for the purpose of exchanging aquatic information, support, education and resources to enable more ethnically diverse communities to get in the water."
You must be 18 or over to enter the Challenge.

How it works –
Enter the Challenge by choosing your Challenge level
Swim the swims relevant to your chosen level in your own time but make sure that you complete all the required swims and distances each month.
Record your swims anyhow you like – we trust you not to cheat!
Post lots of smiling swim pics of you completing your swims and tag us in :)
We can’t control the temperature of the sea so this may be significantly more challenging if we have a cold spell. If you are away you are welcome to record a river, lake or lido swim.
It is just for fun we are not checking on you and nobody is judging. Please be safe and know your limits!!!!!
This year postage is also charged so we can send you out your badges. Our group has grown significantly, and collection/hand delivery is no longer practical. Thanks for understanding x
