This is a community course for people who wish to explore the benefits sea swimming and the beach environment can have on your mental health.
The session is lead by an STA Open Water Swimming Level 2 Coach with full insurance, mental health and lifesaving awards. You are in safe hands!
The benefits of Sea Swimming include:
- Boosting of your mood
- Reduction in anxiety
- Increase in your self-esteem
The 2 hour session will conclude with a group swim /dip, a hot drink and cake.
The session aims to give participants the knowledge and confidence to manage their wellbeing via sea swimming and friendship. We aim to give participants the skills and self belief they need to enjoy sea swimming as a regular pastime.
You don't need to be confident swimmer, the course is free from arbitrary goals and is very much participant led.
We will explore the beach and sea environment, provide tips and advice on how to get started with sea swimming and incorporate some relaxation and breathing techniques both in and out of the water. Our aim is for you to leave with a smile on your face and a sense of connection with your fellow swimmers, the natural beach/sea environment and yourself.
